How to wear and care
Wear it well, make it last.
Step-by-step guides to putting on your wig, taking it off, washing it and keeping it beautiful for longer.
Put On & Go
Ready in minutes.
For glueless wigs with pre-cut lace and an adjustable band.
- 1Prep your hair
Braid or cornrow your hair flat, or slick it back. Put on a wig cap if you like.
- 2Put it on
Hold the wig by the sides, slide it on from front to back, and line the hairline up with yours.
- 3Adjust the band
Pull the elastic band at the back until it feels snug but comfortable.
- 4Secure the combs
Clip the combs into your braids at the front, sides and back.
- 5Finish
Lay the baby hair with a little edge gel if you like, set it with a scarf for a few minutes, and go.
Lace front
The perfect melt.
For lace front and closure wigs, with or without glue.
- 1Prep
Braid or flatten your hair, cleanse your hairline with alcohol, and put on a wig cap that matches your skin.
- 2Place
Put the wig on and line the lace up just in front of your natural hairline.
- 3Cut the lace
If it is not pre-cut, trim the lace close to the hairline in small zig-zags. Never cut straight across.
- 4Secure
Use the band and combs for a glueless install, or apply thin layers of lace glue or gel and let each go clear.
- 5Melt
Tie a scarf over the hairline for 10 to 15 minutes. Add foundation or powder to the lace for a closer blend.
- 6Style
Part it, lay the edges, and style it your way.
Wash day
Every 7 to 10 wears.
Less often if you wear it rarely; more often if you use a lot of product.
- 1Detangle
Detangle gently from the ends up with a wide-tooth comb.
- 2Rinse
Rinse with lukewarm water, running down the hair, never scrubbing.
- 3Shampoo
Shampoo with a sulphate-free shampoo, smoothing it down the lengths.
- 4Condition
Condition from mid-length to ends and leave it on for 5 to 10 minutes.
- 5Dry gently
Rinse, then squeeze out water with a microfibre towel. Do not rub or wring.
- 6Finish
Add a leave-in or heat protectant and let it air-dry on a stand.
Everyday care
Small habits, longer life.
Heat
Always use a heat protectant and keep tools at a moderate setting. Less heat means a longer life.
Night time
Take it off to sleep, or wrap it in a silk scarf. Store it on a stand or in its bag.
Moisture
Refresh curls with water and a leave-in. Human hair on a wig gets no natural oils, so it needs your help.
Detangling
Wide-tooth comb or fingers only, from the ends up. Never brush curly textures dry.
Your own hair
Look after what is underneath.
Glueless styles are the gentlest on your hairline. If you use glue, remove it fully with a proper remover, never by pulling.
Moisturise your own hair and scalp between wears, keep braids loose, and give your hairline a few days off now and then.
