Trim the lace to your hairline, then secure it with your usual adhesive or a wig band. Between washes, refresh the curls with water and a leave-in, and detangle with your fingers rather than a brush. Choose from 10 to 18 inches.

• Wash every 7 to 10 wears with a sulphate-free shampoo, then condition well. Never rub: squeeze the water out gently.

• Air-dry on a wig stand. Use a heat protectant whenever you use heat, and keep tools at a moderate setting.
• For kinky curly hair: medium: co-wash and define. Store it on a stand or in its bag, away from sunlight.

1. Braid or flatten your hair and put on a wig cap.
2. Place the wig and line the hairline up with yours. Trim the lace close to the hairline if it is not pre-cut.
3. Secure it with the band and combs, or with lace glue or gel for a melted finish.
4. Style the parting and edges, then go.
